Insane journal down?

I couldn't get in last night, this morning, or now. Anyone else with this problem?

Here's what I found out via bethbethbeth (just quoting her post):

Yes, IJ is down. There are, apparently, problems with the hosting company, and Squeaky is now working with them to get the databases back up and running.

If you want to follow along with the regular updates, the Twitter page is here.

Squeaky also left an email addy [questions at squeak.net] in case you have a question that needs answering, but really...questions like "Did we lose data?" or "When will the site be back?" can probably be placed on the back burner (so that he has time to, you know...actually fix the problem), much though all of us would probably like a direct response.

On the other hand, I'd really love an answer to how soon the less-than-brilliant hosting company is going to be changed when this immediate problem is solved and he's had time to take a breath.

ETA: Twitter Update: "It appears that I will be able to get the databases back,. I will update again soon when I know more."

Thank you!! And I just discovered that LJ Book does IJ, too, which is good to know, um, if I ever start posting there regularly. I hadn't thought of a complete loss of the database. Duh.

Yeah, definitely good to have a backup! You can only use LJBook so many times though before you have to pay.

I voluntarily donated after the first time I used it. That made it "free for life".

Good idea. I should probably do the same. It's better than LJArchive in a lot of ways.

The lowest level is 8 euros, about $16 dollars. I have no idea what 8 euros equalled back when I donated - lol. Less, I am certain. ;-)
